Bassem Safadi, MD, FACS
Dr. Bassem Safadi is the chair of surgical services at Aman Hospital. He holds an M.D. from the American University of Beirut (AUB).
Dr. Safadi completed his training in general surgery at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, and then pursued advanced training in laparoscopic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. He specializes in bariatric surgery and upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgery.
He began his career in academic surgery at Stanford University before joining AUB and the Lebanese American University as chair of the Department of Surgery. Over the past two decades, Dr. Safadi has published extensively on bariatric surgery and GI surgery and has held numerous teaching and training activities.
