Phyllis Sui Muffuh Navti, DHSci
Dr. Phyllis Muffuh Navti is the Assistant Director of Continuing Professional Developmentat Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q). Dr Navti is a General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registered pharmacist. She holds a doctorate degree in health science from De Montfort University in Leicester, UK, a master's degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Derby, UK and a post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy from Keele University, UK. Dr Navti is a pharmacy graduate of the Freie Universitaet, Berlin.
Dr. Navti has substantial experience in medication safety and governance from her previous roles as Head of Prescribing/Divisional Lead Prescribing adviser for the East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group NHS and Senior Clinical Pharmacist in University Hospitals of Leicester, NHS Trust. For over six years, Dr. Navti was a core member of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Area Prescribing Committee which was responsible for the strategic framework for the integrated, safe, clinical and cost-effective use of medicines, and which provided a central point for approval, ratification, monitoring and implementation of operational activities and outputs relating to medicines use for the region.
Dr. Navti is also very experienced in health care education and training from her roles as Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice at the De Montfort University of Leicester and Clinical Pharmacy preceptor across primary and secondary care as well as in academia. As part of her interface roles, she co-developed the interprofessional education, polypharmacy and deprescribing modules and policies in collaboration with the Medical School of the University of Leicester.
