Nicolas Demaurex, MD, PhD
Nicolas Demaurex obtained his M.D. in Medicine and PhD in Cell biology from University of Geneva. Currently a full professor in the department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism, his research focuses on the mechanisms controlling the calcium and pH homeostasis of innate immune cells. His work has established the significance of STIM-ORAI interactions occurring at membrane contact sites between the endoplasmic reticulum and phagocytic vacuoles in neutrophils and dendritic cells.
