Dr. Vyas S. Kattezhathu gained his degree in pharmacy from Bangalore University in 1996, followed by a master’s in public administration and another master’s in politics and international relations from the University of Kerala. He later obtained his PhD in anti-doping science from Commonwealth Open University in the UK. Dr. Vyas is currently a fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, UK for his contributions in academics, social service, research, professional healthcare practice, philanthropy, and continuing professional development in the field of Public Health.

Dr. Vyas started his career as a lecturer at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, India. Later he moved to Qatar, where he worked as manager of pharmacy academics for the Wellcare group of pharmacies. Dr. Vyas also served as a member to the advisory board for the continuing professional development of health professionals at Qatar University Health. He was also the chair of the Scientific Planning Committee at Allevia Medical Center in Qatar. Dr. Vyas is a peer reviewer of scientific publications for Elsevier and a regular speaker at continuing professional development events and international symposiums.

Dr. Vyas currently works as an education specialist with Qatar Anti-Doping Commission. He is also an international doping control officer certified by the International Testing Agency. Dr. Vyas is a structured practical experiences in pharmacy (SPEP) trainer and an objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) specialist aiding the training of future pharmacists.

Dr. Vyas is a committed breast cancer awareness activist. He is a staunch anti-doping activist and a great sports lover. Dr. Vyas is a strong advocate for the role of women in public health, through information, education and implementation training.
