Dr. Abdul Rouf is the director of operations for the Clinical Trial Unit at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). Prior to this, he held positions such as assistant director of pharmacy at the Executive Pharmacy Office, drug information supervisor, co-head of continuing professional development, and head of pharmacy practice research. His expertise includes medication safety practices, such as adverse drug reactions, medication errors, quality and patient safety, and continuing professional development. Dr. Rouf has been involved in various committees, including the Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committee, Clinical Guidelines, and other committees related to the pharmacy profession at the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the Department of Healthcare Professions. His specific focus lies in promoting an evidence-based approach to developing policies and guidelines in obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Rouf obtained his MPharm in general pharmacology in India, an MSc in clinical pharmacology, and a Ph.D. in complementary and alternative medications from the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom. His doctoral thesis concentrated on the safety of complementary and alternative medications in pregnancy. Additionally, he holds certifications in clinical toxicology and drug information from the University of Florida and Purdue University in the US, and received training in pharmacovigilance from the Uppsala Monitoring Centre, World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre in Sweden.

Dr. Rouf has authored more than 80 publications and has been a reviewer for numerous international high-impact journals. He has also been a speaker, presenter, and scientific committee member at several national and international conferences and events. Additionally, he has served as a hospital research officer and the operational director of research at the Women's Wellness and Research Center (WWRC).
