Samar ElFeky
Dr. Samar ElFeky is a Medical Doctor qualified in Public Health from University of Liverpool, United Kingdom and in Health System Research from Johns Hopkins University, USA.
Dr ElFeky has working experience with WHO/EMRO in health promotion and wellbeing, research promotion and development, monitoring health system programmes, Health for Older People, Social Determinants of Health, integrating Health in All Policies (HiAP), health literacy and community engagement.
She is leading the work of Healthy Cities in the region along with healthy settings including Age-friendly cities, healthy Universities, Health Promoting Schools, healthy workplaces, healthy villages and healthy markets.
She is responsible for the Regional healthy Cities Network and introducing, monitoring and evaluation of Healthy Cities Programme in countries of the Region including Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia and UAE.
In addition, Dr ElFeky participated in implementing Urban Health Equity Assessment and Response Tool (Urban HEART) in Egypt, Iran, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan and Tunisia.
She has many publications in the field of research promotion and development, bioethics, planning communication strategies, community health workers, effect of COVID-19 on lifestyle, health for older people and health promotion and wellbeing.
