Mohamed Bin Hamad Al-Thani, MD, MBA
Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Thani is graduated from the Faculty of Medicine – Cairo University in 1998. He completed his fellowship in Arab Board Program in Community Medicine in 2006. He gained the Fellowship from the Faculty of Public Health in London in 2010. He obtained a Master’s in Business Administration in 2014 from HEC Paris - France (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Paris) which is a European world-class Business School.
He is currently the Director of the Public Health Department in the Ministry of Public Health. He is Associate Professor of Clinical Population Health Sciences (Courtesy) at Weill Cornell Medical College and at Qatar University.
He developed public health programs, policies, and Guidelines to protect the health of individuals, families, and community in Qatar and to ensure Health Equity. He placed a high priority in developing the first Public Health Strategy 2017-2022 in Qatar.
He is continually conducting clinical research studies in the most ethical and safest manner possible to develop an integrated approach to health prevention and promotion. He has published over than 60 articles.
He developed the first Public Health Strategy in Qatar 2017-2022 and participated in the development of the National Health Strategy 2018-2022.
He has headed number of national committees including the National Preventive Health Committee, which aims to address the many facets of transitioning from a curative to a preventive health focus and to ensure a robust preventive health governance system is in place in Qatar. He is the Chair of the Public Health Implementation Committee, and Member in the National Public Health Committee.
He is member of the COVID 19 Vaccine Strategy Implementation and Oversight, member of the National Health Strategic Command Group, member of the National Screening Programs Committee
