Dr. Jarrar now work as Senior manager of biomedical& Health program at QNRF since 2018.

Previously he was associate professor and associate dean of biotechnological sciences at University of Modern Sciences, Dubai, UAE. Dr. Jarrar previously also worked as associate professor of Biotechnology and Medical Technology at the American university of Ras Al Khaimah in 2010 and Assistant professor of Bioscience at George Mason University in 2008. Dr. Jarrar also worked as Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Johns Hopkins hospital, Laboratory Medicine, USA for more than 10 years, and a senior research associate at Kennedy Krieger institute, Baltimore, USA for 2 years, and Adjunct Research Professor in Translational Research Institute and The Betty and Guy Beatty Liver and Obesity Program, Inova Fairfax Hosptial, Fairfax, VA. http://cscmd.cos.gmu.edu

Dr. Jarrar research and academic interests focus on application of bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics and recombinant DNA technology to study obesity complications and metabolic disorders mainly NAFLD, Diabetes and CVDs. Specific research topics focus on studying molecular and biochemical networks involved in pathogenesis of liver diseases as metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance and diabetes. Applying current proteomics and genomics approaches for identifying biomarkers for diagnosis and possibly as therapeutic targets. Dr. Jarrar has published a book about Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and more than 35 peer-reviewed scientific papers in international journals and many abstracts and seminars in many international conferences. In addition he has published a United States Patent No.: US 8357500 B2, Issued on: Jan.22-2013.
