Suhaila Ghuloum
Dr. Suhaila Ghuloum is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist at Mental Health Services of Hamad Medical Corporation in the State of Qatar. She’s a Professor of Clinical Psychiatry affiliated with Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, Qatar University, and Weill Cornell Medicine.
She has national and international involvements in mental health, and active teaching roles at various academic institutions. She is an examiner in Psychiatry locally, regionally and at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Past roles include Chair of mental health services in Qatar, where she was instrumental in writing the mental health law, the first mental health strategy and establishing the Qatar International Mental Health Conference. Other roles include Chair of the Middle East Division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Qatar’s representative to the WHO-EMRO region and the GCC council for mental health, executive roles in Arab Board and Arab Federation of Psychiatrists and zonal representative for the Middle East at World Psychiatric Association. She’s involved with the WHO and World Federation for Mental Health on various projects, guidelines, and position statements. She’s also a member of the International Association for Women’s Mental Health and the International Association for Suicide Prevention.
Dr. Ghuloum has several research projects, publications, and presentations at regional and international conferences. She is a mentor to various graduate and postgraduate students on their research projects and career guidance
