Dr. Katherine Elkins is a recognized expert in human-centered AI and AI ethics with extensive experience applying these principles to healthcare.

Keynote speaker at the 2024 ATPR conference, she has conducted LLM ethical audits and mentored innovative medical AI projects—from NanoSnap (a nanobody structural prediction tool) to LLM-powered pediatric diagnostics and multi-agent screening systems for under-resourced institutions in Bangladesh.

Through collaborations with colleagues at Broadmoor Hospital (London) and the NYU Langone Empathy Project, along with her research on patient diagnosis narratives spanning autism to end-of-life care, Dr. Elkins has developed recommendations that help healthcare institutions harness AI's transformative potential while preserving the essential humanity, trust, and emotional dimensions of medical practice.
