Dr. Thurayya Arayssi is a Professor of Clinical Medicine and Vice Dean for Academic and Curricular Affairs at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q). Dr. Arayssi's career has focused on physician workforce development and retention in less resourced countries through improvement of standards of education, and training of physicians across the continuum of education and has been involved in the accreditation of residency programs, Continuous Professional Development and Medical Education programs. She has held several leadership positions in academic medicine and has been a consultant regionally and internationally. 

Dr. Arayssi’s current research interests focus on Behcet’s disease and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), for which she has received funding as the Principal Investigator from local and international funding agencies. She has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters in her area of expertise.
