Dr. Salman Al Jerdi is an accomplished neurologist specializing in stroke neurology. Since January 2018, he has served as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar, while concurrently working as a Consultant in Stroke Neurology at Hamad Medical Corporation. His clinical and research interests primarily focus on cerebrovascular diseases, with a particular emphasis on ischemic stroke and stroke prevention.

Dr. Al Jerdi earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar in 2012. He pursued his postgraduate training in the United States, completing an Internal Medicine internship at Westchester Medical Center in 2013, followed by a residency in Neurology at the University of Vermont Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 2017.

With a strong passion for medical education, Dr. Al Jerdi has held various leadership roles, including Director of the Neurology Clerkship at Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar. He also co-chairs the Education and Curriculum Committee for the Neurology Residency Program and has co-chaired the WCM-Q COVID-19 Webinar Series, providing valuable education to the medical community during the pandemic.

Dr. Al Jerdi's research work spans both clinical and educational domains. His recent publications have explored the impact of COVID-19 on stroke patients, stroke genetics, and stroke prevention. He has contributed to international journals, such as PLOS One, BMJ Open, and Frontiers in Neurology. In addition to his clinical and research endeavors, Dr. Al Jerdi is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, the World Stroke Organization, and the European Stroke Organization.

Dr. Al Jerdi has been recognized for his excellence in teaching and leadership, receiving multiple awards, including the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award, the Humanism in Medicine Award, and the Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award, along with several distinctions for his contributions to the medical education curriculum.

Beyond his professional work, Dr. Al Jerdi has a deep interest in healthcare economics, quality of care, and medical humanities. He is fluent in English and Arabic, and is a beginner in French.
