The mission of the Office of Research Integrity is to provide education and support to advance the quality of research conduct by focusing on the regulatory and ethical issues related to human, animal and translational research activities.

We are dedicated to ensuring that research is compliant with university policies, applicable regulations and international standards.

This site was developed to guide WCM-Q Researchers (principal investigator, coordinator, assistant, student researcher, etc.) through the types of oversight that may influence the planning and conduct of research.

The pages that follow define expectations, provide links to resources and outline responsibilities for compliance as a result of the nature and type of research.

In addition, they provide an introduction to entities that support the integrity of research conduct and include the following:

  • Institutional Review Board (IRB) for Research involving Human Subjects
  • Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) for Research involving Animals
  • Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) for Research involving Infectious Agents, Biohazards, DNA/RNA

Please note that relevant approvals or exemption(s) of oversight must be obtained and training(s) completed before any research activity can commence.
