As a fundamental part of the five-year research plan, WCMC-Q conducts and hosts an array of ongoing, annual, and special events to foster a culture of biomedical research in Qatar and the region.
These events promote the college on the national and international level, attract world-renown physicians and researchers to Qatar, and provide opportunity for WCMC-Q students to learn from leading medical professionals.
Student Research Forum
Inaugurated in 2004, the annual Student Research Forum is an evening dedicated to the accomplishments of our student researchers. It is an opportunity for them to present to the College and the medical community the results of the work conducted during their Summer Research Fellowships.
In a series of oral and poster presentations, student researchers describe and take questions about their investigations into a broad range of topics, many of them with potential clinical applications. Prizes are awarded to the top presenters in each format.
The Research Forum continues to be one of the highlights of the year at the Medical College and a source of great pride for participating students. The success of the event and achievement of the students show that WCMC-Q is effectively training the next generation of biomedical researchers.
