Data Release Policy: Date Palm Draft Sequence The files on this website are from the draft assembly of the Date Palm Genome 'Khalas' variety generated by whole genome shotgun next generation DNA sequencing. It is our hope that the results provided here will be a starting point for researchers conducting genetic studies of Date Palm. The assembly is a draft assembly using next generation sequencing reads and as such requires caution in its usage. Improvements of both the assembly and annotation are ongoing. Please check back occasionally for update information. The Genomics Core Team at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) is making the preliminary Date Palm Genome 'Khalas' sequence freely available before scientific publication to aid the progress of science. This data release does not constitute scientific publication. Therefore, by accessing this data, you agree not to publish any articles containing analyses of genes or genomic data on a whole genome or chromosome scale prior to publication by WCMC-Q without express consent from WCMCQ. Limitations Data availability and usage The data may be freely downloaded, used in analyses and repackaged in databases by all those who respect the restrictions stated in this policy. Users should acknowledge the source of the information or materials obtained from this site in any resultant scientific publications by including the following language in both the "Materials and Methods" and the "Acknowledgment" section: Preliminary sequence and/or preliminary annotated sequence data from the Date Palm 'Khalas' genome was obtained from the Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q). Given that this information is considered preliminary, it is expected that no one will publish analyses based on the preliminary data available at http://www.qatar-weill.cornell.edu/research/datepalmGenome/download.html without permission of WCMC-Q. WCMC-Q intends to publish full, highly contiguous and annotated sequence in a peer-reviewed journal. Contact |
