The WCMC-Q Scientific Review Committee (SRC) conducts a scientific review of all human subjects research. The Committee advises the WCMC-Q Institutional Review Board (IRB) with respect to the scientific validity of the proposed research projects involving human subjects. Together, the IRB and the SRC ensure that the proposed research involves sound experimental design, scientific rationale and statistical basis such that subjects are not exposed to risks, however minimal, without scientific justification, and that risks are reasonable in relation to the benefits.
