A Summer of Opportunity
WCMC-Q summer programs inspire local high school students
Three groups of young Doha students chose to make the most of their summer by taking part in WCMC-Q's second year of free summer programs. The QSMARTS, Qatar Future Doctors, and Pre-College Enrichment programs all seek to encourage the students’ intellectual curiosity and help them think seriously about their future educational goals.

Qatar's top students sharpen their skills
More than 20 youngsters in grades 7, 8, and 9 devoted a week of their summer vacation to improving their academic skills. The students, all at the top in their class in schools around Doha, joined the Qatar Summer Math & Reading Talent Scholars (Q-Smarts) program.

Paging Future Doctors
WCMC-Q puts out the call to the next generation of doctors
Aspiring physicians in grades 10 through 12 were treated to an early glimpse of life as a medical doctor. The Qatar Future Doctors program provided a unique opportunity for these high school students to experience medical school first hand.

Learning the ins and outs of college life
From weighing options to writing the essay, and even the interview process, the second annual WCMC-Q Pre College Enrichment Program gave a group of local high school students a step-by-step guide to what getting into college is really about.

UREP Funding Awarded to 23 WCMC-Q Students
Building research skills as early as the first year of pre-med
Qatar National Research Fund recently awarded money to seven research projects involving 23 WCMC-Q students. The Fund’s Undergraduate Research Experience Program (UREP) awarded $10,000 to each of the participating students.
IthaQatar Ambassadors Welcome WCMC-Q Students
Making inter-campus connections
This summer, 22 Cornell University undergrads and 24 WCMC-Q students met on the Ithaca campus to help bridge the distance between Ithaca and Doha.
