WCM-Q neurologist wins prestigious teaching award

Dr. Naim Haddad, associate professor of clinical neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q), has been presented with the A. B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).

The award recognizes excellent teachers for their contributions to improving the study and practice of neurology now and in the future.

Dr. Haddad, who joined WCM-Q in 2011, received the award at the 70th AAN Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, California.

Dr. Haddad said: “I am honored to receive this award and very grateful to my colleagues, students and the AAN for making this moment happen for me. I am very gratified that the good work we are doing here at WCM-Q to advance excellence in the teaching of neurology in the MENA region has been recognized.”

The AAN is the world's largest association of neurologists and neuroscience professionals, with 34,000 members. The AAN is dedicated to promoting the highest quality patient-centered neurologic care.

In addition to teaching medical students at WCM-Q, Dr. Haddad runs a busy epilepsy clinic at Hamad Medical Corporation. He also maintains a keen and active interest in research in the field of epilepsy and neurophysiology.
