Coordinator - Clinical Simulation Centre
Nursing Instructor
University of Calgary in Qatar

Arlene Acallar Masaba, RN, MSN is the Clinical Simulation Centre (CSC) Coordinator for University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ). Teaching in various levels and stages of education in the Philippines coupled with her clinical background in paediatric nursing in Canada have provided Arlene a good transition to teaching in nursing.

As CSC coordinator at UCQ, she is very involved in the exploration, support, and application of simulation as a teaching modality to maximize student learning success. This enthusiasm has led to Arlene’s engagement in interprofessional education endeavors that use simulation. Arlene is also the faculty lead for UCQ’s Academic Best Practice Spotlight organization pre-designation with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario’s International Best Practice Guideline Program.
