Dr. Mark Dimon Santos is the Stroke Coordinator of Neuroscience Institute at the Academic Health System, Hamad Medical Corporation since 2013. Dr. Santos joined HMC in 2007 as an Emergency Staff Nurse. In the same year, Dr. Santos was promoted as the Trauma Database Analyst in the Trauma Surgery Department which he throve for six years.

Dr. Santos is a graduate of Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) major in Industrial Education Management at the Technological University of the Philippines (2017), Master of Arts in Nursing major in Nursing Administration (2011) at the Philippine Women’s University, Professional Masters in Nursing Certificate major in Medical –Surgical (2003) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2001) at Western Mindanao State University.

Dr. Santos is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) given by the Mayo Clinic in 2015 and a Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) given by the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing (ABNN) in 2014. Dr. Santos is both a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Professional Teacher given by the Professional Regulation Commission, Philippines.

Prior joining HMC, Dr. Santos served as a Staff Nurse at Western Mindanao Medical Center and then a Clinical Instructor at Western Mindanao State University as a Staff Nurse at Al Noor Hospital, Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia then as a Clinical Instructor at the Makati Medical Center, Philippines.

At the Neuroscience Institute particularly in the Stroke Service, Dr. Santos volunteered to lead the Stroke Education for the Public, Professionals and Patients. Dr. Santos’ key contribution is on stroke coordination of care at the hospital and national level. He participated in numerous international conferences in Stroke Care in Dubai, Thailand, the Philippines and India. Dr. Santos’ involvement in research, as an emerging interest, led him to collaborate efforts between Thailand and the Philippines.

Dr. Santos serves the welfare of the Filipino nurses in Qatar since 2008 under Philippine Nurses Association – Qatar organization which he became the President in 2016 and now as an Adviser.
