Dr. David Cornblath received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University. He completed his internship in medicine at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio followed by a residency in neurology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He then became Clinical Fellow of the Muscular Dystrophy Association in the Peripheral Nerve Morphology Laboratory also at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined the Faculty of Neurology at Johns Hopkins where he is now Professor of Neurology and Director of the Neurology EMG Laboratory. Dr. Cornblath focuses on neuromuscular diseases with special emphasis on peripheral neuropathies. He has published on Guillain-Barre syndrome, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, ALS, neuromuscular diseases associated with HIV infection, diabetic neuropathy, and painful neuropathies. He consults with industry. He is a co-inventor of the Total Neuropathy Score©. He is a past editor-in-Chief of the JPNS, the official journal of the Peripheral Nerve Society.
