Description

Students seeking to expand their medical education to involve neuroscience teaching may elect to assist the Brain & Mind Course faculty during the term of this course. They will have opportunity to assist the faculty in preparation of lecture material & presentations, participation in team teaching of Head & Neck Clinical Anatomy and Functional Neuroanatomy. They can mentor individual students and conduct review sessions before exams and quizzes.

Depending on their interest and abilities, they may be assigned by a faculty mentor to participate in the preparation of scientific or medical education papers for presentation & publication. Students will be contacted two weeks prior to the start of the elective to make arrangements for these other sessions and their global schedule. Any planned time away during the elective (e.g. interviews) must be submitted in writing to the Course Sponsor no later than two weeks before the first day of the elective. Any additional circumstances or absences must be brought directly to the attention of the Course Sponsor.

This elective is offered only during the BAM course (September to November). A 4-week rotation is preferred, but a shorter assignment can be discussed with the course director.
