Fall - 4 Credits

Biology I and Biology II are a two-semester course sequence designed to consolidate major biological concepts and methodologies through both theoretical lectures and laboratory experiments.
Biology I, offered in the fall semester, focuses on biochemistry and cell biology topics, such as biomolecules, enzyme kinetics, cellular metabolism, cell structure and function, cell signaling, and introduction to genetics.
The laboratory sessions apply the concepts introduced in the lectures by performing experiments using lab equipment and methodologies. These laboratory sessions also focus on research competency such as application of the scientific method, experimental design, statistical testing, scientific writing, and information literacy.
