Our experienced staff is available to provide guidance through the educational process at Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar. To achieve this goal, we provide general student support and guidance for services related to scheduling, registration, and academic record keeping; student academic, personal, and career counseling; coordination and implementation of special events; and provide administrative support to all of our pre-medical and medical student organizations. The Orientation Programs at WCM-Q are mandatory for all incoming students. The interactive program serves to familiarize students with the faculty, their classmates, WCM-Q facilities, and university policies and regulations. This is achieved through a variety of lectures, activities, presentations, formal discussions and social gatherings. Many logistical processes are also taken care of during this time such as issuing student ID’s, lockers, mailboxes and laptops.

Students participate in community service activities, which aim at enhancing their social belonging and the concept of giving back to their community. They also engage in fun and interactive discussions and activities with their faculty members in order to build stronger relationships between them and enhance communication.

At the end of the orientation, the Dean and the faculty of WCM-Q celebrate the students at a ceremony entitled “The Opening Exercises.” This is an open event where family and loved ones are invited to attend.
