Dr. Teebi moved to Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) from Toronto as a Professor of Pediatrics and Genetic medicine in September 2006. In early 2008, he was appointed as a vice chairman of pediatrics in NY and director of pediatric service in WCMC-Q. In Toronto he served as a Professor at University of Toronto as well as a section head section of Clinical Genetics & Dysmorphology at the hospital for Sick Children from 1998 to 2006. In the period preceding that he worked at Yale and McGill Universities. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and of Canada, a Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics as well as certified by College des medecins du Quebec in Medical Genetics.
Dr. Teebi is internationally renowned in the field of dysmorphology, in particular craniofacial genetics and serves as a curbstone consultant in dysmorphology at the American Society of Human Genetic Meetings. He is the world's pioneer in Arab genetic disorders, heads the Arab Genetics Consortium and is the curator of the first Arab Genetic Disease Database (www.agddb.org
).
