Dr. Nithila D.Isaac has been lead faculty for Anatomy in WCMC-Q from August 2004 and was involved in organizing the teaching of Anatomy and Histology.
Before joining WCMC-Q, she had extensive teaching and administrative experience. She graduated with Masters in Human Anatomy from Christian Medical College, Vellore and doctorate from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi after which she taught in a fairly new institution, St. John's Medical College, Bangalore for three years. She was in University of Ilorin, Nigeria from 1978 to 1985, as a founding member of the faculty and was involved in planning the curriculum and setting up the department as the chair. The curriculum was structured to be a student-centered, problem solving, integrated learning program.
Moving to Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1985 where she stayed till 2004, Dr Isaac taught Clinical and Developmental Anatomy and Medical Histology to the MD students and was the Associate Director of Histology for several years. She was in charge of teaching Clinical and Developmental Anatomy for the MD/Ph.D students from 2000 to 2004 and reviewed the relevant Anatomy for residents of Orthopedic surgery, Rehabilitation Medicine and Plastic surgery. She was also the recipient of the Leo Davidoff Society Teaching Award.
In WCMC-Q, Dr. Isaac teaches Anatomy, Histology and Neuroanatomy and serves as a member in the Committee for Environmental Health and Safety and in the Student Recruitment Taskforce. She is the recipient of Senior List award for teaching and Excellence in Teaching Basic Sciences award, in May 2008.
